Are you living the life you want to live or just going through your daily routines?

Live authentically. There is a beautiful and abundant life God wants us to have.

Lifestyle is defined as the way in which a person or group lives. It is your manner, state, or condition of living. For me, it is not about the superficial things. It is about my spiritual, emotional, mental and physical state of being, how I want to show up in world, what I want to contribute and how I want to spend my time. We only have this experience of life once, so it’s very important to be engaged and enjoy it fully. I believe one way to do that is to live authentically. Having a true and unique experience, actually living the life you want to live and achieving the things you want to accomplish are important. Otherwise, you may be stuck in a routine and feel discontented – like something is missing. I call this “walking dead”.

However, to have an authentic full life you cannot consider other’s opinions. You must do what you want regardless of what others may say or think. As I talk to people, this is the one thing that seems to keep them from doing just that. My response is always that the only person’s opinion you should be concerned with is God’s because he is your maker. He is the only one you will have to answer to in the end. People are always going to say or think whatever they want whether it’s true or not, but it does not change the truth. You will never be able to dictate people’s opinion and it doesn’t matter what they think because they don’t decide your destiny. Live your life!

Pray and seek God about the vision for your life. It should line up with his will. Remember, he has plans for you too (Jeremiah 29:11). You must be focused in prayer and follow the plan he prescribes. Once God gives you the plan, you must follow it like you would a prescription. If you don’t, you may never see your vision come to pass. I know that for myself. There have been several times God gave me a plan and I revised it or did not follow it exactly and never got it done until I did. If you write the vision and seek the Lord, he will make it plain for you and you will live the life he has planned for you.

I believe it is true that you are less likely to do the things you desire if you do not write them down. However, you cannot just write them down, you must have a plan and be ready to do the work. Write out step-by-step achievable goals and follow them through. If you do this, you will not become overwhelmed by the big picture and feel like it is not achievable. Do your part and God will do the rest. Do not over analyze and try to figure everything out. Just do one thing at a time.

Luke 12:48 says, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” This is true. It will cost you something to create the life you want to live, but God wants us to trust him, know that he will give us the desires of our hearts and to develop our character in the process.
